The part that I couldn't relate to was the sexting and anorexia girl, why would you send somebpdy a naked picture or be part of some weird clan online, it scares me.
the advice I would give is be safe and responsible

-the key player is industry which would be the one that needed to change
-Also the buyers make smarter and more ecological choices in what we buy and to be loyal to those products.
-There are many products made to benefit and not hurt the environment.
-Some use less resources, cause less pollution, less energy use, efforts are cancelled by the rebound effect
-role of retailers is essential according to Timo Makela they must be clear to consumers

-clean technologies to have a brighter world
-new solutions:better futures.
Activity

After watching all of the videos, I have come to the conclusion that I need 2 things, knowledge and a "pioneering spirit" that is what brought organizations like Solar Impulse to accomplish what they have. I understand that I don't have to do something of that magnitude because every little thing helps out the big picture. I think that we have the opportunity to really make a difference, to challenge ourselves to make it and  to stand up for it. At the end of the day we could either fight and blame each other for who has the fault on our environmental issues or everybody take responsibility and work together.

So since I'm not part of the industry yet, I think I can help out by spreading awareness about the issues  that are out there and also by being creative and finding solutions. Primarily as a consumer I can demand for clean and green products, be loyal to them, and get them known. I think even the littlest things can help by watching what you buy, eat, use, and how you use resources. Recycling, saving water, and even having compost in my backyard are all things I can contribute.

GAFE

Creating a site:
Creating a site with Google sites is really simple, thanks to their user friendly programs.
First you can choose a template that you like or you can customize your own, I decided I wanted to customize my own template (I chose a blank template to start from scratch)
Then I chose my site name, and a theme that I liked (sunset)
& from there I decided I wanted to make a more fun website so I decided to do like a photo gallery website, I looked and there are 100s of awesome templates that allow you to chose one you like and are super easy to edit. You can easily add images, links, videos, music, spread sheets, gadgets, and many many more just by clicking insert. In format you can adjust the format you want on your website, number of colums, positioning etc.
Google sites vs Blogger-my opinion, in my opinion blogger is more useful for the kind of things I would need a site for, like having a blog with pictures and opinions and posts. However, for my portfolio I prefer Google sites since it is an actual websites and its all over more professional and has better layout templates for a portfolio type website. Although over all blogger has layouts and templates that I like more and in a bigger variety, I really liked that both you can use gadgets in the well, Google gadgets, and the whole sharing with Google, Facebook, and twitter (along with other social media) (I think is a key concept in these programs. Something I didn't like about Google sites, is I think they could sort of modernize the templates a little because they really aren't that attractive for me. I think a lot of older people like with businesses would prefer Google sites instead of blogger (if I needed a website for that kind of stuff, I would too).
Using Google Sites: Advanced settings:
I learned that you can attacg and embed a multimodal artifact, how to reaarange the layout of your site like how I can rearrange and delete pages or parts of my website, and that after your website is already published, you can still even change the theme of your website. Also  features in Google Sites that can make it a great communication and collaboration for small businesses and other teams, like all of the formats when creating a new page on your websites such as announcements, file cabinets, lists or just a regular web page.
My favorite part of google sites is that you can add so many other avialible google apps to your site like google calender, Google maps, Google earth, just to name a few that I though would be extremely useful on a website. Also that you can add things like donation funds on you websites and places where people can pay for stuff directly on your website it's awesome.
I think that teachers along with students could benefit greatly from Google sites because they could use it as Ms.Shawn does to create a class website where there is all we need to know what we will be doing not only that day in class but all semester long, a place where we can check for homework, have resources and where other teachers and students around the world can see what we're doing. Also I think its great that Ms.Shawn has a website so we can show our parents all the cool stuff we're doing not to mention how easy and accsesible it is. Students could also use Google sites to create their own website for example if a student that sells scarves in school could easily make a website on Google sites to expand their business online. Something I think all students could benefit from is making a portfolio on Google sites, although we already made one with Ms.Shawn last year students could update it with new gadgets and Google apps out there. I also came up with the idea of instead of having a blog for homework, we could all have student websites where we could post all of our homework, bibliographies etc. It would be so much easier and more efficient than the system we use at school.

GOOGLE DAY #3/PRESENTATION

Goals:
Decide what career path I want
Investigate how much each job pays
Learn about competition.
This link is really good because it tells me how much editor in chief's earn which is 50,000-90,000 for newspapers, and 110,000 for a large city. I also liked this link because it showed me how much all the other positions below earned.
I also researched how much my dream job makes a.k.a Anna Wintour Editor and Chief of Vogue magazine and she makes 2,000,000 a year. I know this is a pretty unrealistic job but it's my dream and maybe getting even a little close is really close. I think it'll take a lot of hard work and obviously start at the bottom to work my way up. Anything's possible!
There is very high competition as I learned in this website, I also learned that in order to get the jobs you want you have to have a lot of experience, not to mention that you need all of the education requirements that I've mentioned in previous posts.
I decided I wanted to learn from the actual directors of these magazines so I actually found a blog http://diplomaguide.com/articles/Editor_In_Chief_Career_Overview.html of Francas ozzani Who is the director of Vogue Italia, in the blog it told me what sort of things I needed to be able to do, in nterms of courses, personality, and creativity. I liked it because it showed me what sort of things I should study, and most importantly which ones were important to study. It also showed me something I think I have which is a good sense of Culture.

GOOGLE DAY #2

3 Goals for Today
Look at another career
look at educational steps to get career
Look up the best in the business and research what they did/where they come from/who they are

Best Links/Evidence of Learning
http://diplomaguide.com/articles/Filmmaker_Career_Profile.html
I liked this website because it literally gave me a pros and cons list of the perks and difficulties of becoming/having a career in film making as a director. I learned that it's a competitive field and requires long hours, difficult conditions, and salaries can vary. I also learned that its a job where you have a lot of freedom, express your ideas and be creative which all really appeal to me. The best part for me was that it also gave me a long and varied list of schools that have careers in film making like NYU, University of Illinios, and SCAD (just to name a few)
http://filmtvcareers.about.com/
This website I didn't like so much since it was just a lot of facts that I already knew but it did talk about some of the best directors/professionals in the film making business like one of my idols James Cameron and Steven Spielberg which compelled me to research about both of them. Where I found how they started out, where they studied, previous experience etc. All of this made me realize how gifted these people really are and how you have to be if you really want to make it in the business.
http://ucs.yalecollege.yale.edu/content/film
I loved this site because although it described the real life of how you career in film can be lit is also realistic and makes me realize how difficult the competition is in this field. Also how important connections are and having a good and stable network set up. I really liked this "Flexibility, persistence, hard work and motivation are all pre-requisites for success in the industry." because it prepares you for what you might be getting into.
What questions remain
because I want to keep researching yet another career because even though the 2 previous ones I loved I can't decide which of the two I like the most. I think it's pretty obvious that I want to do something in that industry. I think it's one of the only places where I can express myself and be creative.

GOOGLE DAY # 1

3 goals for the day
research careers that interest me
learn about them : Educational steps needed etc.
narrow down my choices
Links with description of why they are useful to your goals
This website was one of my favorites because it was literally a step by step porcess and shows what it enmtails, takes and what you will need to become a successful magazine editor.

-you need to have strong literacy skills, a creative vision and a good ethic. I think I have I have the first 2 but really have to work on my work ethic. I think that any job requires a good work ethic
-Things that could help me is to be in ap english courses like I am also having great spelling and grammar skills(I need to work on those) also getting into things in school like creative writing course, or publicity and advertsising.
-A four year bachelors degree with a major in writing, communications, or journalism sometimes people start of as an intern or directly as an assistant editor.
-I also found jobs that are similar to being a magazine editor like ADVERTISING EXECUTIVE, WRITER, JOURNALIST, EDITORIAL ASISSTANT.
-FASHION magazine editors get to travel all around the world in order to keep up with the latest fashion and trends. I think that it would be the most amazing thing ever you get paid to go around the world and get to see the art of fashion in shows, openings, and galleries.
-the fashion magazine editor or any editor has to revise all the writing, proofread, edit, and reorganize which I think I'm going to have to work on my spelling and grammar and sense for this but I think that no one is exactly perfect for one job we all have things we can improve, learn and work on.
- Anna Wintour who nhas basically been my idol since I could read maggazines, is probably one of the worlds most famous magazine editor as editor in cheif of Vogue magazine. I decided to read about her and how she got her career started
-Her father was the editor of London newspaper, whcih I guess helps a lot! She became editor in 1988 and totally changed the fashion industry she is known to be one of the mosty influential people in the buisness. She actually dropped out of her school when she was a teen and went to live in London, Her biggest inspiration was her father I though this quote was really cool People respond well to people who are sure of what they want. I guess we all have to be like this sometimes we have to be clear and forward, if we don'rt want to be dissapointed. Anna started her career in a magazine called Harper's and Queen and went rising up untill she got a job as fashion editor of Harper;s Bazaar in her early 20s, she left and then went to work in Viva. She spent a lot on all her work and always brought her own sense of style wherever he went. She then worked at British vogue then at HS where poeple were not so content of the changes she was making, she was later offered a job a to be editor in cheif of Vogue, were she pumped started the magazine again and got it back up she was the first to start incorporating low end and high end items in her ophotoshootdss and started putting celeberties more than models. She also helped some of the worlds most famous designers like marc jabos andf alexander mqueen be known to the fashion industruy.
One thing that you want to learn next Google day
I want to look into other careers, even though I'm already dreaming of being Vogue's next editor in chief, who knows I might like another career even more

Internet Security: Cyber Bullying

-What you know about the topic before your research
I know that cyber bullying is a type of bullying that happens online/ via the internet.
-What you wonder or questions you have about the topic before researching (at least 2)
What is cyberbullying? (Definition) How doies cyber bullying take place? What role can school's play? What prevention methods can we take?
-Links to where you found the most useful information (at least 2, NOT Wikipedia, although you can use it to help you)
http://www.stopcyberbullying.org/what_is_cyberbullying_exactly.html This link was probably the most helpful since it is an actual organization that works to stop and prevent cyber bullying, it explained what it was very well and provided examples, it really helped me to get a good rounded idea of what cyber bullying is.
"There are two kinds of cyberbullying, direct attacks (messages sent to your kids directly) and cyberbullying by proxy (using others to help cyberbully the victim, either with or without the accomplice's knowledge). " -http://www.stopcyberbullying.org/how_it_works/index.html
I thought that this was interesting because I would've thought that there wasn't any classes or types of cyber bullying, especially the proxy where neither sides could be involved pretty scary!
-Bullet list of things you learned about the topic (at least 5)
-Cyberbullying has to have a minor on both sides or else it isn't considered cyber bullying.
-It can happen via mobile phone, computer,; any electronic device.
-Schools often get sued for trying to get involved in cyber bullying because they exeed their authority
-Schools most of the time end up loosing in cyber bullying fights that occur.
-Kids can loose their ISP or IM accounts due to cyber bullying.
-"if hacking or password and identity theft is involved,   be a serious criminal matter under state and federal law." http://www.stopcyberbullying.org/how_it_works/index.html
-Cyber bullying has caused many deaths and suicides of teens, preteens and even kids
-A short summary of how this topic connects/relates to you or your life
-Questions you still have (at least 1)
This topic connects and relates to my everyday life because everyday I see hurtful comments, posts, pictuures or videos either tormenting, critizizing, humiliating and hurting kids.. I had a close friend who commited suicide because of bullying, wether it be in person or online it has to be stopped now I understand how hurtful cyber bullying can be.Those comments that we thjink are funny and sometimes might not even mean any harm can effect the victim and us in very big ways. I think it really makes us think twice before posting or sending or writing anything online, we have to be a lot more consious of what we do via internet, or with any technology especially since once its out there its is next to impossibe to get back. I would like to know how I can prevent cyberbullying mong my friends or in my school, I think that people should be more aware of this topic and begin to take it a lot more seriously.

Design project day 5

2. Back in F19, discuss with your group what your goals were for making it fun...and did you meet those goals. Why or why not? (ON BLOG-Title Design project day 5, Label-Technology Topics AND Technology skills)
We did meet our goals because we wanted a fun and entertaining game that anyone can play and participate in. We also met our goal because we made a game that was original but, also made you feel at home in the sense that it was a ping-pong style game in combination with soccer and you were able to play it in teams, or with many people.
3. On your blog, reflect on the following questions
-What was the biggest problem you encountered? How did you solve it?
Our biggest problem was actually deciding what it was that we we're going to do. We have many strong personalities in our group so for all of us to agree was something hard to do also, many last minute adjustments being made were hard to deal with. We had many ideas and for all of us to be content each of our ideas were implemented in our game.
-When did you get your biggest "AH HA" idea? What was it?
Our  biggest AH HA idea was actually when we were making our final project we decided to make 2 goals instead of one and have it be like you are playing against another person  that way it became a competition.
-Who in your group resisted new ideas the most and why?
I think me and Garcia were the ones who most resisted because we couldn't agree on what we were going to make. Sofia was the one who weighed out the pros and cons and helped us make the final decision.
-What doubts did YOU have about the project and how did you overcome those doubts?
The doubts I had about the project was first, was it going to be sturdy enough to actually play with it and what happened if people didn't like it. I overcame those doubts with thinking about the favorite sport of almost all the students at cng was soccer, and the quantity of people who play pingpong either in break or at lunch was very high, so I thought of it almost  like the best combination!
-Who in your group played "devil's advocate" (a person who questions everything, even good ideas) and how did that help the process?
Garcia was complaining about the project and questioning it the entire time but this helped us out a lot and sometimes slowed us down  alot at times. IT helped us because it made us question if he was 4right and sometimes he was and saved us from making big mistakes. But, on the other hand  a lot of complaining gets annoying very quickly.
What did you learn about yourself, teamwork, and the design process?
I learned that it is a lot harder to get a lot of people to agree on only one thing, that you need to be open to other perspectives and new/different ideas. I learned that I don't like hearing complaints but that I do like hearing different and new ideas that can be mixed with others to create something that pleases a lot of people.  Also I learned that designing anything new is extremely difficult especially when you want your idea to be new and different from anybody else's. Also that a lot of patience is needed when designing a product, those things have to take time and have to go through that specific process to truly be a good product

Design project-day 3

TO DO-Day 3
Open a new blog post. Title it "Design project-day 3". Label it "Technology Topics" AND "Technology Skills"
CHOOSE phase (15 minutes)
1. Review your description of your user from DEFINE phase (day 1) and what makes a game fun
WE though that what made a game fun would be moving, that it looks nice and that you can play it with your friends we also liked if the game had music and maybe some prizes.

-Do these descriptions match your game...why or why not? (on blog)
What makes it fun is that a lot of people can play and it a game in which you move around a lot and can play with all your friends and its a mosca style game. Also its challenging since it has obstacles and you have to be quick.
2. What are the most powerful ideas in your model that you want to keep? (on blog)
We would like to keep the mosca style game with obstacles because it is challenging yet entertaining.
3. What are the things you can leave off to simplify the game? (on blog)
We decided to leave off type holes in the middle because it made the game a bit unconventional and really difficult. SO instead we changed them for little players that will block the ball.
IMPLEMENT phase (10 minutes)
Make a build plan
1. What needs to be done to make the model, step by step, who will do each? (on blog)
-Find a very large piece of carboard
-Make legs and make it like a sort of table legs with soda bottles
-Msake the paddles
-Make the small players as obstacles
-Each bring a ball it has to be light like a ping pong ball.
-Make the goals
-The game to be fun and entertaining and hopefully won't break or anything.
2. What supplies do you need besides cardboard, tape, scissors? Who will bring those? (on blog)
We need ping pong type balls and we need colors like paint and stuff to make them attractive

Design project-day 2

Decide which model has the most strengths (on blog)
Both Sofia's and my model are very good because they were strangely very similar because they were both easy to use and play and simple.
Decide on the details from the other models that you will include (on blog)
-Will have a gap in the parts of the game that are considered out.
-It will be a 4 player game
-Both will include two different soccer teams
-Will have obstacles
-Make the game mosca style
-Decide what might need to be added or taken away from the model in #1 (on blog)
I have to take away some of the obstcles as it weould be almost impossible to win and also adding the gap that acts like an out of bounds space for the game.
Also need to add some more decoration to make the game look cooler so more people will want to play it.Make the game like a mosca style game so we need to put clear instructions

. Write down feedback (on blog) that you get from classmates
    -What was good
That the mosca style was very creative and it wiill be entertaining for middle schoolers. Also that it is really cool because we can play it with a large group of people and it is competetive.
The idea is new and its a very fun game also you can play it with a big group of people
    -What should you consider changing?
They told us that we needed to make sure that it was big enough for a lot of people could play and it wouldn't be uncomfortable. Also make sure it is sturdy enough since it is a contact game

Design project-day 1

Juliana Laborde, Alejandro Garcia, Sofia Cuellar
1. Decide who you will make the game for (primary, elementary, middle school or high school), boys/girls/both
For middle school, and coed.
2. Decide on what difficulty level the game will be.
The game will be medium, difficult enough to be entertaining, but not so much that people will get frustrated.
3. Brainstorm ideas about what makes a game fun or successful (at least 5...should be more)
-Game should/can have music
- Be entertaining in difficulty
-Easy to understand
-Straightfoward
-Something you can compete with  people
-Being able to play with friends

1.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sd7x-F5irBY- This is another game at Caine's arcade I though it was fun because it was difficult but, it was still sort of easy and it had good prizes. Give people more oppourtunities because it's a pretty difficult game!
2.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6cEWELoxEsY-This is a new game for Caine's arcade and it look really interesting because it's difficult but, you can switch out the boards to make it easier or harder. I would imoprove how this one looks to make it look a little more appealing.
3.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=byNLUrohbjE I liked this one because I though it was creative but, I don't think iut =s that cool for the audience that I'm targeting. Maybe make it with more steps or just something a little more entertaining.

2. Brainstorm ideas for your game (make sure to keep in mind your target group and what you think makes a game fun)
-Labyrinth we liked this none because we thought it was complex and entertaining
-Ball toss on a board, its a classic everybody likes it
-Shazam
-Music, ball toss.
-relay race type game
-Soccer game
-Fuzbol
-Airhockey-labyrinth
3. Choose an idea and lists all the things about this idea that makes it fun/good for the group who will play it.
Road kill air soccer with obstacles, made out of carboard this will be really fun because it is a new take on air hockey and people have teams and win prizes.
4. Make a list of things that you think could go wrong with your idea and how you can avoid those
-Soccer players could break, so we will make them sturdy out of hard carboard
-People might think nit's too complicated, so we'll make clear instructions on the game so people will know how to play.
-People may cheat, we can put penalties for cheating like loosing all your points.
